2001: A space odyssey. It changed not only the genre, but cinema in general, amazing artesanal special effects, incredible script, based on an incredible book; directed by one of the must celebrated filmmakers ever, Stanley Kubrick created an amazyng mythology that surrounds his movie. Innovating and entertaing even now, this film is a classic and a must see with incredible secrets waiting to be explored.

Question 2:

Assigment for Monday November 25:

147. That because of climate change, resource shortages, drones, or other unanticipated reasons, a major war will arise. –Steven Pinker, psychologist

I think this is a major concern, because I think it's already starting, and is the time to stop it. Because of all the damage the planet has been suffering by our own hand, natural resources are disappearing, specially water, which is vital for human life. I think this will start a massive war in order to have this important resource for a specific country. This will totally destroy what remains of Earth.

150. That science is in danger of becoming the enemy of humankind. –Colin Tudge, biologist, editor at New Scientist

This is also a big concern, because even though science evolution, has brought us great things, some near future advances, specially in medicine and massive destruction weapons , could become bad things for us. Like I can imagine when the find out the way to create a baby under parents wishes, changing eyes' colors, or hair's color, etc, this will create racism and more separation between poor and rich. And ofcourse weapons' advances are always a danger for obvious reasons.

151. That we will be unable to live without the internet. –Daniel C. Dennet, philosopher
A great modern concern, that our lives get consume by a virtual world, forgetting the real one.
I'm excited for the possibility of travelling through space, I think it would be the key of trying to create a contact with, if there's any, with itelligent forms of life. I think that if these happens it would change completely the way of seeing our existence, and it could be a way to increase techonological advances in ways never imagined.
Long weekend homework (Nov. 17):

I do, and I do not. I do believe there has been an evolution in human behavior, specially in waht rights concern, but even now there has been problems with children rights in some countries from Asia and Africa, such as work abuse, comercial adoption or even prostitution. Those social concerns can also apply to women, like in the middle east countries, were they are obligated to have a submissive behavior, and they can not even vote yet. There is also the everlasting debate on homosexuals' rights and acceptance.
Superhero questions November 13:

1. Values like patriotism, goodness, solidarity, etc.

2. I think I would like to fly, because I could go anywhere I like to.

Short Story.

Blinded Justice.

John was a good cop, a hero. His name was the synonym of justice in the department. His case records were impeccable. His last case wasn't.
Her name was Elizabeth Everdeen, they've told me she was the most beautiful woman in the city, she was the girlfriend of the mayor's nephew, and John's old crush.
One Monday from five years' ago September, a call arrived to the station. It was a lady worker from the city's Grand Hotel. Miss Everdeen was dead, she was heavily beaten and possibly strangled. John was given the case.
He began investigating, even with the department's obstacles with creating a file on the mayor's family members, specially his nephew Jake.
It all seemed to point Jake, he was seen going out of the hotel not very happy. John wanted to kill th bastard, he believed Jake a psycopath; everybody he interviewed said the couple was very happy. They said Liz helped him to change his bad temper. John couldn't understand Jake's reason to kill such a perfect creature.
One night I went back to the station, I had forget my wedding ring, if my wife saw me wiyhout it, some partner would have a new murder case. My desk is just in front of the chief's office. I could see he was still there, he wasn't alone, then the shouting started, I could identified John's rough voice, he didn't seem to be happy at all.
After a short moment of silence, John went out of the chief's office, I could see he didn't have either his gun or his plaque. He didn't even turned to see me, but the chief did. He called me inside, he ordered me to follow every step John did, he told me he was no longer detective.
At the time I was not informed of the reasons of my order, but I only knew I needed to follow it, it seemed to be vital for the department.
John was know an alcoholic, all he did was drink and follow Jake steps.
It was in one of his "investigations" on Jake, that he put a gun out towards Jake. We were in a motel, Jake had hire a hooker. I inmediately put my gun out too, and asked John to layed down his, he said he couldn't do it. As fast as he could, he shot Jake, the bullet went through his neck, I needed to shot John, I did it on the head, faster.
When I aproached Jake, he only said before dying: "She was screwing the mayor..."
As soon as I told Jake's final words not only to the chief, but also to the commissioner, we all received two phone calls, one that came from the governor and another that came from the mayor. It was elections' time, the mayor was the strong candidate for the state's government, this of course couldn't be known if the man had based his campaign on family values. The only reason his nephew was not prosecuted was that he told his favourite uncle, that if that happened he was going to tell it all at court. John didn't care about the mayor, he wanted Jake behind bars, but even more, he wanted the case resolved. When that was denied to him, he went mad.
At the end I was promoted, but hated by my partners at the department for killing John. I decided to keep silence about Liz Everdeen and mayor Samson. Sometimes I think John would've wanted that, to keep Liz a martyr and not a slut, just as John remebered her.
John was seen as the bad guy, an assassin had an honored funeral, a case were a woman was killed, was publicly unsolved and I was used; something I took advantage of. All to keep liar politicians safe, and avoid a family scandal. Nobody cares.
Justice must be blind, and it's because we took the eyes.

The End.

Joke.

BUNGEE JUMPING IN MEXICO.

Two Americans open a bungee jumping business in Mexico. They set up on the square of a small village.

Bob jumps, bounces at the end of the cord and flies back up by the platform. Jeff isn't able to catch his friend, but he notices that Bob has a few cuts and scratches.

Bob falls again, bounces, and comes back up. This time, he is bruised and bleeding. Again, Jeff misses pulling Bob up.

The third time it happens, Bob comes back pretty messed up -- he's got a couple of broken bones and is almost unconscious. Luckily, Jeff finally catches him and says, "Holy cow, what happened? Was the cord too long?"

"No," says Bob. "The cord was fine, but the birthday party down there thinks I'm a pinata!"

Favourite Character Description.

Batman.

He's smart as Einstein, strong as Ali, tall as a tree, serious as a judge, good as Gandhi, lonely as a prisoner, and rich as Bill Gates.

Story Assigment.

My trip to England.

Two years ago I had the fortune to travel across the Atlantic to the amazing England, an incredible country full of modernity and culture. There I was received by my brittish uncle and my mexican aunt, they live in Sheppey, in Kent, a province near London. It's a little but full of history town. In the fields surrounding Sheppey the brothers Wright made the first human flight. It's also a vacations spot, because of the beach and relax atmosphere.
What I found really interesting about Sheppey's beach is that the sea "disappears" at aproximately 19:00 hours, making the land left perfect for collecting oysters.
London was also amazing, I can't imagine a more cosmopolitan city. So full of history, culture and modernity. Theatre there is the best of the best.
At the end, my trip was an experience and a dream come true.

2 questions, October 4.

I can't imagine modern times without computers, they are so revolutionary and nowadays so useful and needed for humans, I don't think we would be better without them, because they have help us to achieve a new standard in our every day lifes. I think taht a healthy technology advance is hugely positive for the human race, but always with responsibility.

I think community service is a great teaching for students, they can learn from people's needs and pain, it can humanize them, and also get a look to someoneelse's reality, which can be entirely different from some of theirs. I think that a great community service here in Playa would be helping poor people, by giving them food, and resources such as clothes, this would help our community, because there's sadly a lot of poor people here, who work in beautiful hotels, but return to a very different reality.

Assignment due Friday September 27.

If I could live in any community in the world, I would live in London, England. I went there for the first time when I was 15 and I was amazed by the city, very Cosmopolitan, and diverse, you can always find something different to do every day. I also love brittish culture, and the fact of my favorite aunt and uncle living there helps. It's such a historic and iconic city in the world, that can easily egage you.

Weekend homework 21-22.

I think this potos represent my community because they were taken in the most representitive places here in Playa, ofcourse the beautiful beach, the diverse 5ta and Señor Frog's, one of the first party places in Playa.
I like living here because it is so diverse and turistic, but I also dislike the not so many options we hve to have fun here, since they are mainly all orientated to tourists.

Let it slide.

Teacher: If you don't give me your homeworks on time, I will not be able to let it slide, this bimster.
Student: Yes teacher.

Let it slide: To not pay attention to, or forget about it.

Where to go in Playa?

In Playa del Carmen, every great place is in la 5ta, and la Cueva del Chango is not the exception.
It's one of Playa's most traditional and succesful restaurants, famous for its breakfasts and relax atmosphere, it is the best experience.

Challenge.

The latest challenge i've acomplished in my life, I would say is getting through chemistry with an extraordinary, and then special exam. It's certainly a good anecdote to tell, since I'm totally retard in what chemistry concerns. I'm the author, in my teacher's words, of one of the worst chemistry exams she has ever seen. As you can see she had a special animosity towards me, perhaps because of her antiquated way of teaching her subject. She was the archetype of the mean teacher. How did a got an approval 6.7 in my last chance to not repeating the year? I had to study my archives, every day for almost a month...
I'm not an atheist, so I would totally say that there was some divine internvention, in the way I overcome this nightmare.

Success consists of going from failure to failure wihout loss of enthusiasm. Churchill.

For me this means that even if you fail doing a goal you need to keep your energy focused on creating a new one and achiev it.

My great concern is not whether you have failed, but whether you are content with your failure. Abraham Lincoln.

I think this means that you must always see your failures with a self learning point of view.
