The Future of Filmmaking.

There has been alot of opinions about the future of cinema not only from foreigners to showbiz, but also to Hollywood loclas.
The main concerns come from the new tecnology for making films, some directors like Quentin Tarantino say this new tools make the movie feel artificial and increase the budget hugely. In his opinion making a film will be soon so expensive, studios won't be taking any risks with art films. So will see a Transformers movie winning the best film Oscar, because of no compitition?
Filmmakers in the line of Quentin (against new techniques) also say the real future is in fresh talent that with a cellphone and almost 0 budget will be able to make great quality films, but without any chance of distribution. Also this new directors will be seduced by big companies with big budgets and salaries, but empty stories.
In the contrary there are other filmmakers that don't only accept this new technologies and story telling techniques, but also promote them and use them. Such as James Cameron, one of the most succesful directors and innovative filmmakers. Cameron say that those who believe new ways of making movies are the dead of the art, are just ignorants. He has invented new amazing cameras and visual effects that have forever changed the way to see, feel and make films. He believes modern times can make films far more real and personal for the audiences. He is sure that technology is not in a fight with art, and he even said that if great filmmakers of all time where alive today they would be using modern tools to tell their stories even better.
James also believes there's crap been done in huge budget productions and low ones, he admits that a low budget doesn't give your movie an extra quality or the art status. He gives the example of great movies done greatly, by great men, such as Hugo by Martin Scorsese or Life of Pi by Ang Lee. These movies were very succesful in the box office and among critics, even winning important Academy Awards.
He also support new talents that use their technology or create new one for making short films, which gives them the chance to express themselves and call for attention of big media groups for a chance in the big leagues.
In my opinion I think new things are always scary, but you need to learn how to use them with quality and to be truth to yourself, specially if you're an artist.
Back in the Golden Hollywood days, they where very scared, and some even against sound in movies, they said even the same things some are saying of new technology about this basic element of a film: sound.
I believe that in some decades future people will be laughing about present filmmakers concerns as we are of old directors past believes of sound, we see this very normal now.
Is a natural process, things need to evolve, they need to be fresh. Just get use to it, and enjoy the ride, we can't even say for sure what's the future of cinema.

Reading May 28.

I was familiar to the term sell-out, specially to the meaning the documentary use for it.
I'm sure that we live in a time where the world is totally comercial, but not only for teenagers but also for adults and even Little children.
I believe this don't prive us from been free, but it certainly block our imagination, cretivity and originality, by making models and standards almost for everything.
Nowadays Pop culture is empty and at big companies service, they will always want to sell you something, and if they see you have talent they'll try to make it generic, this to be safe in something people may want, risks are not longer taken.
I believe blaming teenagers for culture current situation is a mistake, since adults are the one rulling the world, and they are the ones who sell the same product over and over again, they've created this world.
With Internet, teenagers have the possibility to express what ever they want, and to have access to any information they may need. This is good and bad at the same time, there's a lot of crap in the Internet that maybe a teen can't handle well.
It's in yourself if you want to follow the crowd or you want to take the risk of been unique. That's something that has always existed.

Teacher I hope is not too late for making hw, sorry.

New Format for Blog Assignments.

Best film of the Year.

I'm going to write about how and why a film can be considered the best of its release year. I'm choosing this topic because I like movies a lot.

4 subtopics:
Oscars.
Other Awards.
People's Favorite.
At the End You Decide.

4 questions I pretend to answer:
Is the Academy always right?
Why can't one film win every best picture award there is?
Why sometimes big blockbuster films, which are hits, are not considered the best movies by critics?
My personal opinion counts?

Each year we ask ourselves which was the best film we saw, this essay pretends to answer what should you consider to name one or more the best one(s) you saw.

Oscars.

Many people think the Oscar is the ultimate award to determine if a movie is worthy to be call the best of the year.

Blog Assigment for Wednesday.

Joaquín Guzmán.

He made his fortune out of trafficking with drugs all over the world, specially the United States of America. He is totally a self-made billionaire, with a cold heart and a big brain for crime. He has put Mexico's government and business men in to his service, and he even have big conections with USA politicians. Some would say he has helped poor people, specially from his hometown (Sinaloa), by giving them work, or increasing development in the region, there have been reports that sometimes he just gives money for the full pleasure of helping them, specially families with huge problems. Since he escaped prison (like a hollywood satr in an action movie) in the beginning of the millenium, Guzmán has not been seen much, but nearly everyone in Sinaloa (including the government) know where he is. He is just too powerful and dangerous to catch, but the American government, using specially DEA has never stop trying either arrest him or kill him. They give money for his head, or information about him, they have made him public enemy number one. Information about his life says he suffered a difficult childhood, because of poverty. That's why people believe convinced him to enter criminal life, by making the richest illegal business of the world.

My advice would be, to be creative and original in every business you decide to start.
I would say this is important, because without inventitive ideas there wouldn't be any interest of potential clients in your business, since we have a market were good ideas are usually overused, new and fresh products are the ones that people pay attention to.
